We Cannot Fulfill Record Requests

South Carolina Public Records is an independently operated reference website. We are not part of any South Carolina state agency, county office, or municipal department, and we do not have the ability to retrieve, furnish, or modify official public records on anyone's behalf. To obtain the documents you need, please reach out directly to the appropriate government office:

  • Court records: Contact the Clerk of Court in the county where your case was originally filed. South Carolina is divided into 46 counties, and each one maintains its own Family Court and associated case files.
  • Property and deed records: Direct your inquiry to the Register of Deeds office in the county where the property is situated.
  • Birth, death, and marriage certificates: Submit your request to SC DHEC, Division of Vital Records, which serves as the central repository for vital event documentation statewide.
  • Tax records: Reach out to the county auditor or treasurer's office responsible for the jurisdiction in question.
